Here's an interesting story I found online tonight about the God Particle. What's a "God Particle" you might ask? Well, it's a part of an atom that
scientists are trying to locate which they believe are the very beginnings of the universe. This particle is supposed to help in the explanation of the "Big Bang" theory. Most of us have probably
heard this theory at some point. According to the Big Bang theory, the universe was created as a result of a big explosion billions of years ago, and it all happened "by
accident".
The problem with this entire theory is that it totally eliminates the fact that an all-knowing, omnipotent God created everything in the universe. If those scientists really want to unlock the mystery of how the universe came to be, they need look no further than the Bible. Fact is, there is no God Particle. There is a God, though. And He's not a particle, either. He's a person, and each one of us has the privelege of knowing and having a personal relationship with Him. Looks as though those scientists are spending a great deal of time and money searching for something they're never going to find. If they want to know how the universe came about, they need to stop focusing on the created, and look to the Creator.
I did a search on gospelcom.net to see just how many references there are to God being the Creator. I used the word "created", and I found 41 different instances in the NIV version of the Bible where the word "created" is used. I'm sure if I included the words "create" and "creator" in that search, I would have found even more. Of those 41 passages, most of them clearly demonstrates that God, not a particle, is the Creator of the universe (the four or five other instances of "created" deal with other topics). Here's one for starters:
Isaiah 42:5
This is what God the LORD says he who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread out the earth and all that comes out of it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it:
As Christians, we sometimes disagree about how certain scriptures are to be interpreted. However, I've always seen that its the case that when God wants us to know with certainty about something very important, He always makes a point to demonstrate that fact very clear in scripture, often repeating it numerous times so we don't "miss it" or so we won't be confused about it. God declaring Himself as the Creator is one of those important facts He wants us to know; (salvation is another one which would fit in that category). Some other noteworthy scriptures which tell us that God is the Creator are as follows:
Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:21
So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
Genesis 2:4
This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created. When the LORD God made the earth and the heavens-
Genesis 5:1
This is the written account of Adam's line. When God created man, he made him in the likeness of God.
Genesis 5:2
He created them male and female and blessed them. And when they were created, he called them "man. "
Genesis 6:7
So the LORD said, "I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth, men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air, for I am grieved that I have made them."
Deuteronomy 4:32
Ask now about the former days, long before your time, from the day God created man on the earth; ask from one end of the heavens to the other. Has anything so great as this ever happened, or has anything like it ever been heard of?
Psalm 104:30
When you send your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of the earth.
Psalm 139:13
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
Psalm 148:5
Let them praise the name of the LORD, for he commanded and they were created.
Isaiah 40:26
Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
Isaiah 45:8
"You heavens above, rain down righteousness; let the clouds shower it down. Let the earth open wide, let salvation spring up, let righteousness grow with it; I, the LORD, have created it.
Isaiah 45:12
It is I who made the earth and created mankind upon it. My own hands stretched out the heavens; I marshaled their starry hosts.
Isaiah 45:18
For this is what the LORD says he who created the heavens, he is God; he who fashioned and made the earth, he founded it; he did not create it to be empty, but formed it to be inhabited, he says: "I am the LORD, and there is no other.
Isaiah 57:16
I will not accuse forever, nor will I always be angry, for then the spirit of man would grow faint before me, the breath of man that I have created.
Mark 13:19
...because those will be days of distress unequaled from the beginning, when God created the world, until now and never to be equaled again.
Ephesians 3:9
...and to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past was kept hidden in God, who created all things.
Colossians 1:16
For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.
1 Timothy 4:4
For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,
Revelation 4:11
"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."
Revelation 10:6
And he swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it, and said, "There will be no more delay!
Looking at these scriptures, God doesn't leave much room for doubt about who (not what) the Creator is. How do we know the Bible is true? Good question. Here's the answer.

My latest webcomic is on this same topic. Sometimes satire helps.

I... WAS interested in this article, but then when I read (2nd paragraph) "The problem with this entire theory is that it totally eliminates the fact that an all-knowing, omnipotent God created everything in the universe."
That's not a problem, quite the opposite actually.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I do disagree with you, though. Taking God out of everything is THE problem, even more than we realize. Whether it be denying His role as the Creator of the universe, taking Him out of our schools, or refusing to acknowledge His existence at all, is the root of many of our problems today. It's a "slap in the face" to a God who loves us and deserves honor and praise.
Hi,
Show yourselfs approve, The breathe of life is refered to all levels of understaning, but the bible unlocks this understanding. The bible can interpit itself in this matter. read and show yourself approved.
